Scientific terms in Arseny Tarkovsky’s poetic lexicon

This research is devoted to the linguistic aspect of Arseny Aleksandrovich Tarkovsky’s lyrics. We have considered such an uncharacteristic for the poetic text lexical layer as scientific terminology, which in the poems of Arseny Tarkovsky is not a single phenomenon. In linguistics, terminological vocabulary is usually referred to the category of unambiguous words that do not allow for double interpretation. However, in the space of a poetic text, the scientific term often loses its uniqueness, acquires additional semantic shades and figurative meanings, and becomes the author’s original metaphor. The aim of the study is to analyze the semantic transformations and increments acquired by scientific terms in the poetic works of Arseny Tarkovsky, as well as the comparison of the identified meanings with the original meaning of these terms. We consider the single terms, as well as terminology and phraseology. In most of the poetic texts we have chosen for analysis, there is a semantic transformation or metaphorization of terms within a holistic figurative context. Changes that we reveal in the semantics of terminological vocabulary constitute the elements of an integral poetic system. Interpretation of a particular lexical unit, as well as understanding the reasons for its appearance in the text, often requires the involvement of information of an autobiographical nature.
