TO THE PROBLEM OF ADMINISTRATIVE DISTRICTS NAMES INTERPRETATION OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC INTO RUSSIAN AND RUSSIAN FEDERATION INTO SLOVAK LANGUAGE

Abstract
The problem of denotations of administrative-territorial generic names rendering from a source language into a target language is studied, particularly Slovak-Russian and Russian-Slovak rendering of administrative district units basing on the material of articles in Slovak, Hungarian and Russian printed sources The results of the analysis of media texts in translation practice, indicating that to date has not developed uniform guidelines regarding the transfer of the official names of administrative units of Slovakia in the Russian language and Russia in the Slovak language. Conventional methods for such transfer of practical transcription and replication are proposed. Particular attention is drawn to the historical names of administrative units in the other country, as well as the names of the new nomenclature of units terminated in both countries in recent years. Practice of translation correspondences of the Slovak administrative-territorial units of Russia and Russian correspondences of administrative units of Slovakia is analyzed. The demands for unambiguous interpretation of the nomenclature and terminology in the official documents are given, stand stable Slovak-Russian and Russian-Slovak parallel names of administrative-territorial units. It is proved that the symbols of administrative-territorial units used in the documents as the nomenclature of the term or generic name of the corresponding class, together with the specific pair of placenames. When translating official documents should pass such a generic-specific pair the most correct and by far as faithful to their transfer to the language of the translation may depend on the validity of the translated document. Recommendations on the harmonization of such transfer shall take into account the correctness and unambiguity of the translated documents.
